Tues 8th July
Sundays its a Knockout should have been called its a wash out .We had rain and more rain followed by the occasional clear sky (only for a few mins).Anyway the weather didnt stop the students taking part and they all did a great job ,winning 4 events and without any major injuries. Thanks to the family support and some senior students it was not a bad day for those taking part .Its a shame the Joker was not counted as they would have had more points..Still it was fun
Friday 11th July

This sunday is our annual All Day Course  held at Lancing youth Centre inside and outside .This year with not guest intructors i have decided  let the senior students have a 45 min session each throughout the day . So hope all LFK students can attend  this event .Remember you need to attend at least one course  during the 4 /8 months between grading to be eligable to be  selected to grade .
Monday 14th July
Yesterday was our Annual All Day Course . Selected senior grades were asked to take a 45 mins session on the following Kata, self defence, shield work ,flexability and fitness and all those chosen did a very good job ,i even took part and felt a bit weary today (must be an age thing) . Well done to them all

Tuesday
22nd July
Some students membership is due for renewal ,letters will be handed out over the next few sessions
Thursday 31st July
Some students need to attend session more regular to have the chance to progress and be selected for grading .Attendances plays a major part in the grading procedure along with abilities ,attitude etc . When you miss a few session , it will show ,your timing is out ,stances are incorrect etc etc . Please try and attend at least one session a week to ensure your progress .
Also - REMINDER - NEXT WEEKS SESSION IS ON THE TUESDAY AND NOT THE WEDNESDAY AS NORMAL .
Sunday 3rd August
Final Reminder ,that this Wednesday session will now be on the Tuesday .Reason for this change is  am going to have a minor knee op  on  the Wednesday Morning ,and will be out of action for 2 weeks .The session on the Saturday will be taken by Pat 2nd Dan ,the wednesday by Matt 2nd Dan ,followed by Dave 1st Dan on the Saturday and then pat agian the following . I have no doubt they will be treated with respect .As mentioned they will seek assistance from the other dan grades and brown belts where required .I will still be attending the sessions as i hold the instructors policy for LFK .as founder and chief instructor.
As you are all aware the next couple of weeks i will be attending only ,the sessions have dedicated instructors taking them.
Over the next couple of weeks ,leading upto the grading session will be based on what is needed to grade. It doesn't matter if you are selected or not ,you should still try and attend as many sessions as you can to give you a better chance. The grading this time will be a
PASS MARK ie you will need a mark of 65 to pass ,not percentage as previous. And the marking will be by 3 judges ,myself ,Pat 2nd Dan  and Matt 2nd Dan who will just mark students ,they will play no part in the grading .
So if you want to ensure your selected to grade ,try and attend as many sessions as you can upto the 6th September (the day before)and train as hard as you can every session .Grading letters will be handed out from Wednesday 20th ,some students will be notified before if they are not grading .

LFK also had four students going for 1st Kyu Brown/Black Stripe which is one step away from that coverted Black Belt .All thirteen did well and reached the pass mark of 65 ,a few were bang on but they still passed. Reminder to all those who did pass ,well done now live up to that grade as you all did well to obtain it .See you either weds or Saturday new belts on .
