| RULES & REGULATIONS |
1. The Club will be known as Lancing Freestyle Karate (LFK from here with)
2. Founder and Chief Instructor is Sensei Ray Grey 3rd Dan /Sensei at all LFK events /Ray outside Dojo

7. Grading will take place every FOUR MONTHS for Kyu Grades
8. Grading months are April and August & December
9. Black Belt gradings will be in May and November If Chief Instructor feels they are ready to Grade and show the Correct Attitude ,
Discipline, and Respect
10. Black Belt will be based on Ability and not Age
11. Brown Belt grading will be every 8months /1 year at the discretion of the Chief Instructor, Plus you must have attended a Course
12. No Retest fee if you fail your grading If you fail your grading you will have to wait until the next scheduled grading .
13. You must have attended the required number of sessions to ensure you are selected
14. Plus you must have attended a course within the 4/8 months between gradings
15. Only the Chief Instructor can select students to grade when he feels they are ready to progress
16. Letter will be handed out if you have been selected for grading at least 2 weeks before the grading date
17. Pat Coady 2nd Dan and Dave Bishop 1st Dan will assist me with Gradings from White to 2nd Dan /other Dan grades may also be
included on the grading panel
18. The first Kata for LFK will be Shodan (meaning one)
19. Sets will be introduced from 1-5
20. Sessions will be One & Half Hour
21. Courses will be Two Hours unless stated otherwise
22. Outdoor Sessions on Saturday and Wednesday for limited number of sessions
23. We are members of Cobra Martial Arts Association based in Manchester and founded by Andrew Morrell 7th Dan
24. All grades will be ratified yearly with Membership renewal
25. Both Club Badge and Cobra badge must be sewn on your Karate GI
26. All students will get a Free Session on either the Weds or Sat nearest to their Birthday.
27. All students must Rei at the most senior student when entering the dojo
28. All fees must be paid prior to commencement of sessions unless agreed with by the chief instructor or instructor on the day.
29. All equipment ordered must be paid for on delivery ,unless agreed with by the chief instructor or instructor on the day
30. All students must have protective equipment before participating in Kumite section of the session /course
31. Students must have a clean and tidy Karate Gi at sessions worn correctly, with no lose tags or stickers /badges sewn on /Sleeves
rolled up.
32. Toe nails and finger nails must be clean and short
33. Students must line up in Grade order in a strong Yoi Position in silence
34 Students must complete all details in their Membership Book including Photograph
35. It is the student€™s responsibility to ensure they have an up to date licence, failure to renewal will result in the student being unable
to train.
36. New Students will not be selected to grade until they have completed 4 months training this will depend on their progression during
the 4 months
37. Any Student returning after an absence of more than 4 months could be downgraded until they have reached the standard expected
for their grade.
38. Students coming from another Club /System will be assessed by the Chief Instructor before they are awarded a grade under LFK
39 Black belts from another Club/System will hold their grade but proof must be shown of gradings
40. If you leave the club you will be removed from the web- site after your membership has finished ,this includes Dan Grade .
41. All events involving LFK must be authorised by the Chief Instructor before they take place this applies to Demos ,Taster Sessions
and School Events
42. No student from another Club/System will be selected to grade until they have trained for more than 6 months with LFK
432 Hygiene plays a major part in Martial Arts so please ensure you are clean and tidy at all sessions/Courses
44. Lancing Freestyle Karate will not tolerate Bullying -Harassment-racial Abuse --Sarcastic Comments from or to any student or
Instructor of LFK.
45-The Chief Instructor has the right to ask students to leave the session who are being rude ,disrespectful ,or abusive towards him or
another student /instructor during the session ,this could result in the student being removed from the club .
